Dance
The Warrior Dance is a traditional dance of Sarawak's Iban people. This dance is usually performed duringGawai Kenyalang or 'Hornbill Festival'. Reputedly the most fearsome of Sarawak's headhunters, the tribe's victorious warriors were traditionally celebrated in this elaborate festival. Wearing an elaborate headdress and holding an ornate long shield, the male warrior dancer performs dramatic jumps throughout this spellbinding dance.
Marriage
The indigenous guy normally outside the community to women of similar rank, and wives usually reside with their husband’s family. Post-marital residence is usually in the wife’s department, women have full rights to children or property after the frequent divorces, and agriculture is mainly organized by woman.
The most common form of household organisation is the stem family with parents, unmarried children, a married daughter, her husband and their children. Extended households usually contain two married daughters, but this is always a transitory form as the expectation is that all but one married daughter will eventually establish their own apartments.
