Sarawak is the largest state in Malaysia. It occupies an area of 124,450 sq km on the north-western part of the island of Borneo. In Sarawak, the dominant tribal groups are the Dayak. Tribal people live in longhouses. With the 27 distinct indigenous ethnic groups that speak 45 different languages and dialects, Sarawak can be proud to boast racial harmony amongst a population of 2.1 million who adhere to a variety of traditions, practices and religions.

During Year1972, mining and manufacturing sectors was the biggest contributors to the Sarawak’s GDP. But from Year2005 onwards, service sector overtake it, contributing up to 31% of Sarawak’s GDP Annually.
